I’ve never been great at following things through. Because of that, I have a wide range of skills and experience at lots of different things.
This has often held me back because I can’t easily define what my expertise are. It’s good to have a range of abilities, but I’ve made most progress when I’ve plucked up the courage to be confident and state who I am and what I do.
When I do that, people actually believe it. The purpose of defining your expertise is mostly so that other people can make sense of it and feel comfortable with what or who you say you are.
It also helps your own confidence build and gives you the strength to make it happen.
